Edition Project 8 : Klas Ernflo, Sweden.
Each season I invite a different artist to create a new piece which we present as part of the ongoing Edition Project. This happens just four times a year - Solstice, Equinox, Solstice, Equinox. The latest contribution is a painting by the Swedish born artist Klas Ernflo.. I've been admiring his work for many years and am delighted to have him involved.
This new work was exhibited during the midsummer celebrations in a hamlet in rural Sweden, a place very close to my heart. We decided to present the work in a tiny tumble-down bath house hovering over the lake, surrounded by friends. An unusual setting to be sure but it seemed to be fitting. Access was by way of an old pontoon which only accommodated a couple of people at a time. The neighbouring cows seems confused but content.
We raised the flag high, served the drinks cold and celebrated this fantastic work at the apex of the summer.
